Open Access Lifeline Launches New Website

Open Access Lifeline, one of the nation’s first dedicated vascular access centers, today unveiled its new website, www.OpenAccessLL.com. Led by Medical Director Dr. Sanford Altman, a pioneer interventionalist and expert on dialysis access, the center provides high-quality vascular services to patients throughout the south Florida area. The new website features an easy-to-navigate design and offers patients and physicians a user-friendly way to find more information on the various procedures and services available at the center.

Open Access Lifeline was founded in 1999 to improve the delivery and coordination of vascular access care to End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patients. In 2011, the center expanded its scope of services by providing peripheral arterial services for patients diagnosed with Peripheral Arterial Disease (P.A.D.)

The new state-of-the-art website outlines the custom vascular access solutions available such as fistula maturation and repair procedures, vessel mapping for optimal access placement and catheter placements, removals and exchanges. In addition, the site offers detailed information about the procedures available to treat the various stages of P.A.D., including ABI testing and endovascular atherectomy.

The incidence for P.A.D. is continually on the rise despite the fact that many people do not show overt signs or symptoms for this silent disease. It is widely recognized that the first step to treating and preventing P.A.D. begins with knowing the disease risk factors. The new Open Access Lifeline website now features an interactive Risk Assessment Tool that allows patients to quickly and easily determine whether they are at risk for P.A.D. Following completion of the risk assessment tool, patients are encouraged to contact the center to receive more information.
