Healthcare Professionals

Open Access Sonography Inc., established in 1994, was the first provider of mobile diagnostic and surgical services exclusively for dialysis patients outside of the hospital setting. In 1999 Open Access Vascular Access Center was established as the first free-standing outpatient center of its kind in the south eastern United States, specializing in the vascular access care of dialysis patients. For over 25 years Open Access has served as the leader in specialized dialysis access care. Although there are now several centers to choose from in the south Florida area, none have the experience of Dr. Altman and the team at Open Access.

Easy Scheduling

When it comes to scheduling, it couldn’t be easier! With one simple phone call, our trained staff can help dialysis clinics, nephrologists and other healthcare providers coordinate patient care. Whether it’s elective or emergent care, patients will be scheduled to fit their needs. For emergent situations involving a dysfunctional vascular access, most patients can be treated and returned back to their dialysis unit the same day if needed.

Delivering High Quality Vascular Access Care

Open Access is committed to CMS’s efforts to decrease dependency on central venous catheters (CVCs) and supports the Fistula First Breakthrough Initiative. As such, many of the surgical procedures performed at Open Access involve either identifying the best anatomical location for fistula creation, performing surgical procedures on fistulas to improve their functionality, or repairing fistulas which are no longer working properly.
